Charleville Castle
http://charlevillecastle.ie/
Charleville castle is a building which has been rescued from near ruin by volunteers and a voluntary organisation – it has been described as Irelands leading historical architect, Francis Johston’s masterpiece. It is maintained authentic and unchanged and we rotate volunteers to mind it 24 hours a day 365 days a year – but also to keep it open to the public. it is famous for its ghosts stories and unique architecture – but it is not a state-funded project and depends entirely on volunteers and supporters – so many people, thousands, have expressed their love of the building and support – we hope you will get a real feeling of what it is to keep a castle like this alive when you visit – see you here!
